There’s something incredibly comforting about a simple bowl of butter garlic pasta… it’s one of those recipes that proves you don’t need a long list of ingredients or a complicated recipe to create something truly delicious.
This butter garlic pasta is rich, aromatic and comes together in no time. You can add any veggies or proteins of your choice (I've added mushrooms).
The garlic gently sautéed in butter fills the kitchen with the most inviting aroma, while the mushrooms add a lovely earthy flavor that pairs beautifully with the silky strands of spaghetti. A generous sprinkle of parmesan cheese at the end ties everything together, resulting in a creamy and saucy pasta.

Butter Garlic Pasta
Ingredients
- 250 gms Spaghetti
- 1 big Onion (chopped)
- 1-1.5 tbsp Chopped garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp Pepper powder
- 1 tsp Red chili flakes
- 1-1.5 tsp Oregano seasoning
- 30-40 gms Butter
- 1-2 tbsp Olive oil
- 1/2+14 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 Cheese cubes
- 1-2 tbsp Chopped parsley
- 2 tsp Chilli oil /Chilli crisp (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti, as per package instructions and retain the pasta water after draining, about 2 cups.
- Once the onion starts browning, add minced garlic. Cook for 4-5 mins, till the raw smell goes.
- Add pepper powder, red chilli flakes and oregano seasoning. Cook for 1-2 mins.
- Add 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese, grated cheese cubes and 1 cup of pasta water. Bring it to boil.
- Add the cooked spaghetti and reduce the flame to the lowest. Cook till the spaghetti is coated well with the sauce.
- You can add more pasta water, if you prefer more sauce. Check the seasoning and adjust accordingly.
- Transfer to the serving dish and sprinkle the 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese, chopped parsley and chilli oil/crisp (if using).
