How can a Kerala Christian not know these recipes...
I’ve to admit that I’ve a soft corner towards the recipes under this category. The recipes here reminds me of the taste of my childhood. Every Easter and Christmas memories of my childhood is connected with these recipes.
The memory of one Easter from that time still stands apart. We were on the move that Easter..had breakfast from our place, went to Changanacherry (my Appa’s place) for lunch, visited my Appa’s sister’s place after lunch and had a heavy tea or a mini version of lunch from there, came back to Cochin and went to my Uncle’s place and had dinner. At the end of it, what i clearly remember is me lying down on my Uncle’s sofa, feeling so full, that I can't even turn to one side!! Then and there, I made a promise to myself (which was broken many times) that I’ll never ever indulge on food like that.
The rational side of me agrees with me when I say that I don't want to put myself in that situation ever gain, the irrational side of my argues, what’s the joy in celebration when you don't eat to your hearts content? What’s your take on this?
Btw, some of my fav in this category are Fish Molly, Palappam, Beef Fry, Chicken Mappas, Achappam, who am I kidding.. I simply love everything in this category ;)
