Ingredients

  • 250 gms Mushrooms (sliced, I used white button mushrooms)
  • 1 big Onion (chopped)
  • 1 small Capsicum (chopped)
  • 1.5 Tbsp Crushed garlic
  • 1-1.5 tsp Pizza seasoning/Oregano seasoning
  • 1-2 tsp Chilli flakes
  • 2 Cheese slices (I used Amul cheese slices)
  • 1 Tbsp Milk
  • 1.5-2 Tbsp Oil (I used olive oil)
  • 10 Puff pastry squares
  • 1 Beaten egg
  • Salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 170 C (refer notes) for 10 mins, before baking.
  • Heat oil in a wide pan. Add chopped onion and cook till it begins to brown. Add crushed garlic and cook for 3-4 mins or till the raw smell goes. Add cheese slices and let it melt. Mix well and add milk to bring everything together.
  • Add chopped capsicum, sliced mushrooms and salt (refer notes). Cook till it's done.
  • Add Pizza seasoning and chilli fakes. Mix well.
  • Add cheese slices and let it melt. Mix well and add milk to bring everything together.
  • Thaw the puff pastry squares. Keep the filling (1 -2 tsp approx) on one side of the puff pastry and fold the other side to cover it. Press the edges with a fork and score on the top, using a serrated knife.
  • Line a baking a sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the filled puff pastry on it. Brush the beaten egg on the puff pastry. Bake the puffs in preheated oven for 25-30 mins, until it's golden brown.

Notes

The pizza seasoning and cheese already has salt in it, so please adjust the salt for the filling accordingly.
You can use any cheese that melts. You can also use grated cheese instead of cheese slices. You may need around 1/2 cup of grated cheese for the above recipe.
Though I've mentioned 170 C, you can use the standard temp that you use for your regular baking.
You can also bake this in an air fryer. Preheat the air fryer to 180 C for 5 mins. Place the filled puff pastries in pre heated air fryer and cook for 15-18 mins, until the puffs become golden and crispy. Invert the puffs in between.
