Author: Maria Jose Martin

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cabbage
  • 1 cup Carrot
  • 2 medium Onion
  • 2 big Tomato
  • 1/2 cup Grated Coconut
  • 1/2 tsp Whole Pepper
  • 4 Cardamom
  • 4 Clove
  • 1 small piece Cinnamon
  • Salt
  • 1 tbsp Tomato Sauce
  • 2 tbsp White sauce (optional)
  • 2-3 cups Water
  • 2 slices Bread

Instructions

  • Boil the ingredients from cabbage to salt, till it's done. Separate the stock (cooking water) from the vegetable mix. Grind the mix into a smooth paste. Mix the ground paste and stock and tomato sauce and white sauce and heat at low flame for 7 - 10 minutes. Serve hot with bread croutons.
  • Remove the crust of the bread and cut into cubes. Shallow fry the bread cubes & serve with soup.
  • To make white sauce, melt 1 tbsp butter in a pan and add 1 tbsp plain flour (maida). When the raw smell of flour goes, add 1/4 - 1/3 cup of milk and keep stirring. once the mixture reaches the consistency of a thick sauce, remove from fire.

    • Hi Srinath

I will try to post some easy soup recipes. However I guess all the above ingredients are quite common and white sauce is optional. It tastes great even without it.

      Take care
