Finally I did it. No no.. am not referring to the recipe, the recipe is an easy one and you cant go wrong with it. I was referring to the picture. I couldn't get a good picture of this Chinese Chicken Fry recipe. It doesn't mean that all the pictures in my blog are excellent. I am talking about an average looking picture here. Somehow or the other it didn't work out. The problem ranges from the lighting to the chicken getting burnt and finally when the light and chicken is ready my camera is not charged up. I even thought whether am jinxed :-), because when it happens with the same dish for more than 3,4 times you need an answer for why its happening right :-) ?
Anyways, this time also the light didn't favor me, but am not going to try anymore, I think this will be the best that I can do with this dish. This recipe was sent to me by my friend Divya, who is a fabulous cook herself and who has encouraged me a lot in blogging by giving very helpful suggestions and feedback and also by sending beautiful recipes like Carrot Cake and Fish Fingers.
I still remember our hostel days at Banglore, where we used to try our hand at cooking under Divya's leadership. Our cooking adventures included biscuit pudding, kachimoru, and Chicken Biriyani (yes, we always aimed high in cooking)
This chicken is almost like an instant dish and it tastes awesome!
The recipe follows:
Ingredients
- 250 gms Boneless chicken (cut in small pieces)
- 1/2 – 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
- 3/4 tbsp Soya sauce
- 3/4 tbsp Tomato sauce
- 2 tsp Chili powder –
- 1 tsp Garam masala
- Salt
- 1/2 tbsp Plain flour
- Oil (I used Sunflower oil)
Instructions
- Marinate chicken pieces with ingredients listed from ginger garlic paste – salt. Keep it in fridge for 15 minutes. Heat a little oil in a pan and cook chicken. Cover and cook it and don't use water. Once the chicken is done, keep it aside to cool a little. Sprinkle the flour on cooked chicken pieces and deep fry it. Serve with chili garlic sauce.

Thank u so much for such a wonderful appetizer recipe….. To make it slightly healthier, I heated some oil in a pan and cooked the chicken covered, on low flame. It was simply amazing and we served it as a side dish…The chicken here in the Middle east cooks pretty fast…so no need to worry about the chicken burning….:)….I tossed in a few coriander leaves and it tasted delicious…My husband actually licked the plate clean!!!…..:)……..Thank u so much for coming to the rescue of us newly-weds!!!!

i hv got somewhat similar recipe frm my aunt…..bt she used cornflour instead of maida. n der’s no cookin part in it. wats da purpouse of cookin b4 deep frying. deep fryin is enough na? Maria, ur blog is superb. :) Don’t rate ur pics as average….. dey r simply superb…… Keep goin………All da best :)

tried this chkn fry yesterday w/ghee rice. as i had cut the chkn into bite size pcs, did not cook them before frying. added the flour to the marinade and deep fried in oil. needless to say, it was yummmmmmm
