Here is the recipe…
Ingredients
- 1 kg Chicken
- 1 cup Small Onion
- 3 medium Tomato
- 4 Green chili
- 1/2 cup Oil
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 small piece Cinnamon
- 4 Cloves
- 10 Red chilli
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
- Salt
- Curry Leaves
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan. Fry small onions, tomato & green chilli separately & keep aside. Grind together turmeric powder, cinnamon, clove, red chilli, pepper and cumin seeds.
- Stir the ground masala in the remaining oil. Add chicken pieces & salt to the masala & stir. Add required amount of water to cook chicken & cover it with a lid. Once the chicken is cooked well add the fried onions, tomatoes, green chillies & garnish with curry leaves.
Notes
Adding coconut cashew paste after the chicken is done will make a thicker & much tastier gravy. Grind together 1/4 cup of grated coconut and 1 tbsp of chopped nuts with 1 tbsp water to a smooth paste. Add this paste to the curry, once the chicken is cooked & mix well. proceed with the rest of the recipe.

Hi Maria,
I found your site through my husband who is also an avid foody like me. I must say that all your recipes are just absolutely fantastic. I have tried several of your recipes and cant remember one that did not come out well.
This is actually the first time I am writing a comment on any blog. I actually tried the Chicken Dry roast and also made a variation to it. I have started a blog myself titled FoodiePot and the address is foodiepot.blogspot.com.au. Please do drop by and leave your feedback.
I look forward to more and more of your recipes.
Cheers,

Hi Maria,
I’m new to your world of recipes. I came to know about your website through one of the episode of showmethecurry.com. Its only today that I tried Masala chicken (My 1st try from your website). I’ve never made a chicken curry without Eastern Chicken masala. So I wasn’t confident enough about this recipe. But I was wrong!!! And I’m glad about it… :) The curry has come out so yum!! And the proof… My 2year old son asked me for more & more…!!! Can’t express my joy Maria!!
Thank you!

Please do try other recipes too when time permits. Hope to see you here often.
