Ginger Chicken Recipe

Here is the recipe:

Ginger Chicken

Ingredients

  • 700 gms Boneless chicken
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 tbsp Ginger
  • 1 Capsicum
  • 1 tsp Soya sauce
  • 1 tsp Tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp Red chilli paste
  • Oil , Salt

For Batter

  • 1 Egg
  • 3 tsp Cornflour
  • 2 tsp Plain flour
  • 1 tsp Ginger paste
  • 1 tsp Soya sauce
  • 3 Chicken cubes (optional)
  • Salt

Instructions

  • Mix together all the ingredients for batter & make a paste. ( if chicken cubes are added no need to add extra salt). Dip chicken pieces in this batter & fry till it becomes golden brown.
  • Heat oil in a pan & add ginger,onion & capsicum. When it becomes soft add the sauces & red chilli paste. Saute for 3-4 minutes. Add fried chicken pieces & salt. Mix well. Garnish with Capsicum.
  • For gravy - Add 1 teaspoon cornflour to 1 cup chicken stock or water & add to the chicken. When the gravy thickens remove from fire.
  • Red Chilli Paste - Add 1 teaspoon vinegar to kashmiri chilli powder & make a paste.

Came out so well and best part was the less time it took to make, dat too for dinner aftr I got bk from work in the evening ..       You can make the ginger chicken as a dry preparation or with gravy.

      I’ve mentioned in the recipe about the gravy. I made it dry, that’s why you don’t see any gravy in the above picture.

      • @Maria, hi maria..i would like to try this recipe…bt i dont have kashirii red chilly wid me right now.so it okay..if i dont add that??its only for the colour purpose right…adding ordinary red chilly would be a good idea?

          Its ok to add ordinary chilly powder. As you’ve said Kashmiri chilly powder is added mainly for the color.

    On Sunday i tried ot your mixed fried rice(version 2) aand gingerchicken.
    Ginger chicken was amazing, ummmmmmmmmmmmm.
    fried rice ,i had used the ordinary biriyani rice so it wasnt that beautiful to see, but iit was delicious,

  8. Hats off!!! Excellent recipe, I was not able to believe that I made it tooooo good.My friends and family enjoyed it so much.I took this curry to office as part of our x’mas celebration and everybody enjoyed it very much!!!
