2 - 3slices Thick breadI used sourdough bread (refer notes)
1medium Tomatoslices into rounds
4slicesCheeseAny melting cheese, I used Gouda slices
Instructions
Preheat the oven at 200 C for 5 mins, before using it.
Drain the water/oil from canned tuna completely. Flake it with a fork. Add 1/4 cup mayonnaise, chopped parsley, celery, lemon juice to the drained and flaked tuna. Season with salt and pepper. Mix well.
Apply the rest of the mayonnaise on one side of the bread slices. Top it with the tuna mixture.
Spread tomato slices and cheese on top of the tuna mixture.
Broil in a preheated oven at 200 C, for 4-5 mins or until the cheese is melted and browned a bit.
Notes
You can add onions or pickled jalapenos or capers to the tuna mixture. Be careful while adding salt, since tuna is already salty. You can use cooked and shredded chicken instead of tuna and follow the rest of the recipe. You can also grill it on stove top. Cover the bread to melt the cheese. If using stove top, make sure you apply mayo on both sides of the bread. You can also use regular white bread, but make sure you dont load it with the tuna mixture.
