Cauliflower Manchurian

Ingredients

  • Cauliflower - 100 Gms
  • Diced capsicum - 20 Gms Diced onion - 50 Gms
  • Chopper ginger - 10 Gms Chopped garlic - 10 Gms Chopped green Chilly - 05 Gms
  • Vegetable stock - 20 Ml
  • Soya sauce -10 Ml
  • Chopped coriander - 10 Gms Chopped spring onion - 10 Gms
  • Salt - To Taste Vinegar - Dash
  • Crushed pepper - As Required Corn starch - 10 Ml
  • Oil - To FryFor frying the Cauliflower:
  • Corn flour - 10 Gms Egg beaten - 1 Maida (Plain flour - 20 Gms Gingergarlic paste - 10 Gms Salt - To Taste Oil - To Fry)

Instructions

  • Make a batter with cornflour, egg, maida, ginger garlic paste, salt and water. Dip the cauliflower into the same & deep fry until golden brown.
  • Heat oil & toss in the chopped ginger, garlic and green chilly. Saute well and toss in the diced or chopped onion and capsicum . Add the Soya sauce and vinegar and cook on low flame. Add the veg stock, bring to boil and add salt . Add the cornstarch and coriander and add the fried cauliflower. Simmer and serve. Garnish with chopped spring onion & carrots.

    This site has become my default reference for any recipe… I’ve tried out a few chicken dishes, the paneer biriyani and a choc cake… All came out really well… And the pepper chicken has been an all time hit! Thanks a lot for ur time and patience :) Way to go…

    Your site is fabulous….i have tried may of your dishes like chilli chicked, fried rice, kallu shappu beef fry …etc
    actually I was planning to prepare some good dish with Cauliflower…!!
    Please let me know the main difference in Gopi chilli and manchurian…

      Thank you very much dear :) Nice to know that you’ve tried many recipes from this site. Sorry for the delayed reply to your query… I’m away on holiday now, hence the delay. Hope you understand.
      About the difference between chilli gobi and chilli manchurian… the set of ingredients used in the recipe is different. In chilli gobi, we have used red chilli to spice it up and in machurian black pepper is the main spice agent. Apart from that there are minor differences.

      Thank you :)

      To make vegetable stock, cook some veggies like carrot, celery, cabbage etc, along with garlic, peppercorns, bay leaf & salt in enough water. Cook till the veggies become mushy. Discard all the veggies and take the remaining water, thats the stock.

      The above is a bit time consuming process. For a quicker version, you can use any stock cube like maggie chicken or veggie cube. However the stock is healthier.
