Chocolate Burfi

Here's a simple recipe that you can make for Diwali. It's an easy recipe with readily available ingredients, which hardly takes any time to quick. The only thing that I didn't like about this recipe is the setting time. It takes a while to set, I was kinda running out of my patience and I actually ate half of it by testing whether it is set ;). Apart from that, it's a breeze to make this.

Honestly, Indian sweets is not my forte. It's more like once in a year affair which happens during Diwali time. I always look for recipes which are easy to make without much effort. This year I landed on this one. Ok, in the interest of full disclosure, I did try another recipe and it flopped big time! I almost gave up and was planning to post a cake recipe, but since for the past few years I've been posting Indian sweets recipe for Diwali, I didn't want to break that tradition.

So here, we are with Chocolate Burfi. I think the authentic Burfi recipes uses Khoya, but since it's not easily available everywhere, I went with the next best option, which is milk powder. What I loved best about this recipe is that there is very little room for messing up this recipe. Just think about it.. the combination of milk powder, sugar, ghee and cardamom, need I explain more?

Wish you and your loved ones a very Happy Diwali!!
